COVID Safe Plan at MCWA

MCWA is committed to providing high-quality services and care to its clients.
We have implemented several safety measures to ensure the continued safety and wellbeing of our clients, their families, our staff and the community.
By strengthening and further enforcing our existing rigorous health and safety measures, MCWA continues to play a key role in supporting everybody during these unprecedented times.
In line with the Government Guideline For Home Care Providers, MCWA has implemented an organisational plan that includes, but not limited to;

ORGANISATION PLANNING

  • The introduction of the COVID safety plan
  • Review processes and how they apply to the current COVID situation.
  • Reduced number of staff in the office at any one time in line with restrictions.
  • Additional check-in calls to both clients and staff to ensure everybody is safe and well.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) & OTHER RESOURCES

To keep clients and staff safe, MCWA has rolled out the mandatory wearing of enhanced PPE.  This includes but is not limited to;

  • Wearing additional disposable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all personal care and home care which includes, face masks, gloves, shoe covers, full bodysuits/gowns, face shields, aprons and hairnets.
  • Hand sanitiser and/or liquid soap is available for staff delivering face to face care.
  • Review cleaning practices, and implement regular, scheduled cleaning of frequently touched objects and services.
  • All staff must perform hand hygiene before and after every contact with a consumer.

MCWA STAFF

MCWA values strong communication with all staff, volunteers and clients. During these times MCWA has increased its level of communication to all. This includes but is not limited to;

  • Clearly communicate to staff that monitoring their own health will help ensure that the people they care for are protected and safe.
  • Provide regular updates to staff as new information is released.
  • Keep records of training, particularly training relating to infection prevention and control.
  • MCWA developed a video on how to wear PPE equipment appropriately.
  • All frontline staff have completed a COVID safe training.

CONSUMERS/CLIENTS

MCWA holds a client-centred approach to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients, this includes but is not limited to;

  • Update consumers’ records, including their contact details, emergency contact details, and current GP.
  • Identify any consumers who are considered to be at high risk of serious illness from COVID-19.
  • Temperature checks before entering the homes of client.
